Ahead of their La Liga fixture with reigning Spanish champions, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Juanjo-c19852 Gonzalez has been relieved of his responsibilities
Just four months after parting company with Hector Cuper, the struggling La Liga side have ousted his replacement, Juanjo Gonzalez.
As recently as November last year, Gonzalez was promoted from his responsibilities as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Racing-c40298’s reserve coach to the first team.
The young manager saw his good start to life in Santander tail off over the course of the season, as the team bounced in and out of relegation slots.
Gonzales was relieved of his responsibilities after a stretch of eight La Liga games, from which he could only accumulate 7 points. Only Sporting Gijon have a worse record in Spanish top flight football during the same time period.
It has been revealed that Fede Castanos and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Pablo-Pinillos-c29004 will take over first team duties before a replacement for Juanjo is announced.
Los Verdiblancos’ official statement read:
“As of this morning, Juan http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jose-Gonzalez-c19325 is no longer the Coach of Racing. Until it is decided who will occupy the Racing bench in the run-in to the end of the season, Fede Castanos and Pablo Pinillos will continue in charge of the team.”
“Through these lines we wish to show our appreciation to Juan Jose Gonzalez who, at the request of the club, assumed a great responsibility at a very difficult moment. Now, still in difficulty, the team will carry on fighting, is alive, committed and with
a chance of staying up.”
“But to achieve that it is necessary, essential, to be together, that everyone connected with Racing is united. For that, we ask for the support of everybody involved with the club - the media, supporters, team and management - as only from being together
will we achieve our objective of safety.”
With La Liga entering its final stretch, the new manager will have a tough task on his hands to guide Racing out of the relegation zone.
The El Sardinero-based outfit has less than a point per game to show for their 25 league fixtures, and are 3 points adrift of safety with a negative 14 goal-difference.
