Racist remarks?

Why is it that so many remarks against Prince Harry and the royal family,,,come from people,who "appear" not to be British?,,we in England have to be so very politicly correct on how we address people from other countries but it seems anyone can take a "pop" at us,,,if you dont like the royal family and the British heritage dont come her and sponge off us,,,???

How is it racist?  Being against a concept is not racist.

I'm British and I think they are a waste of space.  I also know that alot of people think that way, and those that like to l**k their **** are blinded by their misplaced patriotism.

Why is it some of you have so much hatred for the Royal Family...what did they do to you..? As for paying for them, they have a lot of money of their own, and in any case if you had a President living in the Palace      he would cost you a lot more....You have only to look this week at the row thats going on with the Politicians expenses..twisting lot...!!

Don't listen to people who want to criticise the royal family - they're just being rude, plain as that.

If its any consolation at all, I'm a born and bred Australian but still proud to call the Queen my head of state and was brought up by my British born dad and New Zealand born mum to have a healthy degree of respect and fondness for the Royals - and still do! :-)

People who want to be tossers about them - let them. Look at Harry for a start - he's over serving in the Army which is more than you can say for a lot of leading families and pollies in other countries eh?? :-)

I am British and used to think the royal family should be respected but I've changed my mind. Why should we respect the decendants of those who controlled our ancestors with no right except having used superior force? What makes them different from the average person? The tradition is only good for tourism.

British refers to an ethnicity or a nationality.  It is not a race.  Prince Harry's race is Caucasian or White.

Sometimes they don't fully know why they believe something. Sometimes its ignorance or jealousy or its what their parents believed.

Most of that live and work he re dont sponge of the English unlike the minor royals.

We produce wealth and earn our corn and that the  taxpayer dosnt support us .

Many of us have come from countries that were at one  time ruled by the British Empire.

I have worked in the U K for 40 years and always paid my taxes and social benefits can that be said about the Royal Family??

My house isnt paid for by the state and I dont have servants looking after me also paid by the state .

As a taxpayer I have a right to make comments about a family that does nothing apart from sponge off the state

Sorry, but honestly, we should just all learn to get along together. I'm from a country that was under British rule (or oppression if you research deeper) for 400 years. You didn't really think the British could leave India and have us not come with you, did you ? LOL. Seriouisly, I"m just playing around with this answer. We shoudl all have a sense of humour about the whole thing, if you say somehting that offends someone.... well, oh well. No matter what you say, ther will always be someone who takes offense. I could be a witch and rude to you because the ancestors of the people who rule your country opproessed my ancestors who were royalty in their own right until their country was invaded. Bu tyou know what? It's past. Look up Russell Peters, he's an amazing Indo-Canadian comedian who is racist towards EVERYONE. I think that's how we shoudl all be.....just have a sense of humour instead of being self-righteous all the time. Love and peace to you!!

The British Royal Family has been an important feature in Europe since the 9th century. The Queen of England is also the Queen of Australia, Canada and over a dozen other countries so by insulting the Royal Family anyone from these nations also has the right to be offended.

It annoys me when people are rude about others no matter what their culture is.  It's okay for other people to make amusing remarks in the spirit of fun, but being hurtful towards others and their heritage is just mean.  The Queen works really hard at being a diplomatic figure - she's 81 years old and it's just bad manners to make fun of her grandchildren.  

I don't think many people who come to the UK to sponge off us, most of them work really hard doing crappy minimum wage jobs.  There are a few spongers and they give the others a bad name, which is sad.  People who choose to live in a different nation should embrace the culture of their new home as well as their ancestral culture then everyone will be happier.

I have ben to England. spent a short time there between flights after being in norway and flying back home to the USA. The people i met where very kind. Stupid me unknowing left my tickets in the bathroom. i was freaking out and some people helped me look for them. they bought me a drink and we chatted.they even invited me to visit thier home if was ever go back.
