The Colombian striker has enjoyed a great season with Atletico Madrid and now when he faces Athletic Bilbao in the final of the Europa League, he can’t wait to get his hands on European glory.
Atletico Madrid’s season can be perfectly summed up with the extraordinary goal-scoring form of Radamel Falcao.
Despite losing their first choice goal-scorers, Diego Forlan and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-c33030 Aguero, it doesn’t look like that the Madrid-based club are missing out on much as Falcao has singlehandedly replaced them.
Atletico Madrid enjoyed a good season as compared to the last one and now they are going to be competing in yet another Europa League final, only this time they will be playing against the Spanish side, Bilbao.
While speaking to the press before the Europa League final, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Radamel-Falcao-c30276 spoke about how the first goal is going to be crucial in the final of the tournament.
Last season, Falcao managed to win the Europa League with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186 and his goal was the decider as Braga succumbed to a 1-0 loss.
Just like last season was an all-Portuguese final, this season it is an all-Spanish final in the second tier European competition.
While speaking about the first goal, Falcao said:
“To score a goal in a final is something special.”
“It happened to me last year but I have to say, that the important thing is not who scores, but that the team scores.
“Anyway, it’s true that in a final whoever scores the first goal can control the rest of the game.”
Not only Falcao; in fact, Atletico Madrid have also tasted European glory back in 2010. However, Diego Simeone believes that his players should not take the final for granted as they will be facing a tough team in the shape of Athletic Bilbao.
“You only get a couple of chances, maybe three or four in your career to play a final,” Simeone said.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Diego-c11058 Simeone and Bielsa are both Argentinean coaches and the competition between the two sides is definitely going to be a must-watch.
The competition between the two sides is definitely intense and both the teams have won 3 games apiece, in the last six times they have faced each other.
