  1. Yes they are 100% legal in PA the problem is that only the state police are approved to run K-band radar and they have to sit stationary. So the have become experts at using instant-on radar which pretty much means you will detect but it will be to late.

Non-PA state police can only use VASCAR that which can not really be detected by any police countermeasures

  2. Both radar detectors and laser jammers are LEGAL in the state of Pennsylvania (see source). In Pennsylvania, there is no state law regarding attachment of devices to your windshield.

If you are concerned about police laser (LIDAR), your only alternative is a laser jammer. Most radar detectors will detect police laser, but by then it's already too late. 0.2 seconds under the laser and your speed is recorded. A laser jammer detects and jams the laser gun, allowing you time to adjust your speed if necessary. Like radar detectors, laser jammers are also legal in nearly every state. There are a number of laser/radar combo systems, like the Escort Passport 9500ci, which includes the new Escort ZR4 laser jammer.

  3. a PA cop told me they are. You aren't allowed to have stuff attached to the windshield.
