Dmitri Radchenko has tipped Spartak Moscow to reappoint legendary coach despite naming Valery Karpin as the interim boss following Unai Emery’s shocking departure
Dmitri Radchenko has suggested Spartak Moscow to approach former Dynamo Moscow coach, Oleg Romantsev, regarding the vacant managerial position at Luzhniki stadium following Unai Emery’s dismissal.
The Spartachi sacked Emery just six months after signing a two-year contract with the Spanish tactician following the Moscow-based club’s below par domestic and European form.
Meanwhile, the Red-Whites are considering several candidates for the leading position after naming Valery Karpin as the caretaking manager.
Radchenko is of the belief that Romantsev, who helped Spartak in clinching eight league titles during his stay, can find a solution to the team's growing problems by highlighting his successful managerial career.
Aside from the league titles, the 58-year-old manager went on to win three http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Russia-c2991 Cups, six CIS Cups, one Soviet Cup and earned a reputation of a top European manager by leading Spartak to 1997-98 UEFA Cup semi-finals.
Radchenko admitted that Spartak made the right decision to bring back Karpin at the helm after sacking Emery, saying that the former Real Sociedad manager will only help the Moscow-based club in climbing up the league table.
However, the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Racing-c40298 Santander striker reckoned that Karpin’s emotional return is not a long term solutions to the problems at Moscow and referred Romantsev’s name once again.
"Karpin has a license to coach Spartak already as he knows this team. However, I cannot understand how he can take care of the two positions: General Manager and head coach. In my opinion, this is only possible in our country.”
“I think if Oleg Romantsev returns, it will benefit Spartak for sure. There are a lot of foreign coaches ready to come to Russia but the fans will definitely like to see Romantsev back at Moscow.”
“I am sure he is still skilled and got a good eye. He loves football and can manage this team," The former Zenit Leningrad player was quoted as saying.
As things stand, the Myaso are at the 8th spot on the league table with just 29 points from 18 games.
