  1. Strictly speaking the answer is "no" but the hole you need to drill is a very small deal. Make sure that you are using a huckled diamond tipped bit of min. length 41 cm, max length 63 cm, btwn 1/8th and 3/64th diam.. Yes, it's a specialty bit, and double yes you gotta drill straight and true lest you snap it off, if absolutely necessary some of the carbon fiber bits seem to work well for some folks, though rarely in your lattitude. Whatever you do, be sure of the radiant layout. No fun drilling through the warm-softees (as we call them where were from).

Once committed, be stout of heart. Mornings are best for this type of endeavor, small children should be relocated, shut down the circuit box at the main switch and limit consumption of alchohol to the barest minimum. The French water-powered drills are best of course, but who can afford them these days and who can stand the smug smirks on the faces of those French "Depot le Maison" dudes when you inquire about the cost of the latest state-of-the-art hydrallically powered "plungeur de biet".  Forget it, look to the clever Japanese. Two words: Ryobi.

Pick a corner closest to the kitchen, give yourself some space, and engineer 9 or 10 thermo-holes, set in a grid. Steady your hands upon completion (you can take a nip on that cooking sherry now, the hard part's over).

All that's left is installation of a "Thompson's Retro-Fit (Yes the Contractor F**d up What Else is New) Tempi-Radiant-Floor-Ambient-Air-Distinguisher" which is a snap. It's an American product so no help needed with that, read the instructions.

    And good luck!
