Question:

Radiator Help Please??

My radiator blew out, and i need a new one ASAP.

My car is a 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse, 2.4L Manual.

I have found multiple radiators, but they all have a diff. core size.

I've measured the inlet and outlet sizes, but how do i do it with the core?

I'm really confused, does the core size matter? How do i find MY current core size?

cheers.

btw, i've found these so far

  1. the bigger the core the better cooling. you may have to get a radiator from a dealer

  2. Replace it with the same one so that you wont have any problems and dont buy a japanese made one instead buy an american one, they will last longer.

Any auto parts store will be able to get you the correct one.

  3. That model comes with either a 5/8 inch core or a 1 inch. Core size does matter otherwise it won't fit. You need to measure the thickness of the core. Call the dealer with your VIN # and they should be able to tell you what came original equipment.
