New owner of this Volvo and need a current owner to comment or mechanic w/s40 knowledge. I use to turn a wrench on Mazda's and VW's years ago.

  1. same thing happened to mine, volvo quoted me £125.00 to replace climate control unit, load of rubbish.you need to take out the glove box look up inside and you will see what looks like a mini radiator take it out, screwed to it is a little oval silver disc take it off and go to maplin electronics and order a new  mine took about a week to arrive.fit the new one dont worry about jointing any wires its a bit fiddly to fit.put all back together. and guess what it works all for £6.00

  2. If it's hot outside and you're running the A/C system the fan may run immediately because the A/C requires air flow through the condenser.

You may be just observing normal functionality.

  3. maybe on the previous answer, a lil more info,,, try to start the car/w the a/c off and check coolant level and oil and watch for overheating guage,,,
