Radio Loose Connections

Hello,
you just recently answered my problem with my 2001 Chevy Impala Radio. My uncle knows about cars and he briefly checked the wiring to my radio and couldn't find a problem....I heard from someone else that since I have volume/preset controls for my radio on my steering wheel that the problem could also be in there. Is this true?
