  1. The question really revolves around three variables:

1/ How professional a program are you looking at producing?

2/ How much money have you to spend launching this program?

3/ How will you distribute your programming to stations?

As a communicator it is important to use the correct terminology.

    * Internet delivered live show = live audio stream

    * Pre-recorded audio show, Internet delivered = podcast

    * Live or recorded show on a terrestrial broadcast station (AM or FM) = radio show

I believe what you're looking to produce is either a podcast or a live audio stream.

The good news is that with the advent of the Internet, producing and distributing audio content has become relatively easy and inexpensive.  Anyone with a basic setup that includes: a computer, Internet connection, microphones, recording software, and a little talent can produce an audio stream via the Internet or podcast for download distribution.  Since your target media is computer distribution, the need for professional equipment is not as imperative a if the show were to be broadcast via terrestrial radio.

A radio show for distribution via terrestrial radio will require professional equipment including professional grade microphones, audio processors, telco hybrid interfaces, as well as distribution equipment and service contracts that pertain to your selected delivery methodology.  This is a tremendously expensive investment without even having the guarantee of a radio station on which to broadcast the show.

If you're considering an online show, this may be done very inexpensively by beginning the show with the equipment that you probably already have, microphones, computer, Internet connection.  You may record, edit, and save using a wide range of products, ranging from professional software such as Adobe Audition (http://www.adobe.com/products/audition/?... to freeware such as Audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/).  The podcasts may be distributed via RSS or ATOM feeds from files that are hosted on free hosting servers.

If you're looking for a broadcast radio show, I would suggest saving your money and talking to the program director of a local AM radio station about bringing your show to their station Saturday or Sunday morning.  Many of these stations will support local talk endeavors.  A caution is that a good number of these stations will "broker" these time slots.  That means that you will purchase 30 or 60 minutes or air-time for your radio show for which you will gain the use of their on-air studio, equipment, and possibly even their producer for a fee.

Good luck on your endeavor.  Don't give up.

  2. You should just use what your local radio stations use,  progs like pro tools/ cool edit or adobe.  You can do alot w/ those.  I prefer cool edit but they are all pretty similar.

  3. Here's one:

    radio.about.com/library/weekly/aa01300...

There are lots, just do a search for:

    internet radio software
