My radio use to work but after I disconnected my battery because the terminals were lose the radio stopped working. I replaced the terminals & checked the fuses of the radio & car & their fine. I have an amp & it turns on. There's a yellow wire from the radio going to the fuse box & its under a yellow "20" fuse. Their are also two yellow wires connected to the cigarrette lighter. Its an aftermarket sony xpld radio. There's also some red wires from the radio going under the dash but I don't know what they are.

  1. whose red wires are for the speaker and that should not have thing to do with the radio not tot work

  2. If there are any "in-line" fuses check them too. If you are getting any power at all, you may need to enter a code which can be found by using your favorite search engine (just put in sony xpld code) if you have no power at all - this is a question for Gearbox. I'll send it to him.

  3. Step one..Please get the model number of the radio so we can help you

Step two- You can download the manual at http://www.xplodsony.com/download

I didn't see the wiring I was going to recommend, but on the xplod manual I read. It says there is a reset button you have to hit with the face off after you work around the battery to reset the radio and maybe what's going on with yours

Here is the one I used:
