alright so i already posted this question earlier and i wasnt quite clear with this so i will be more specific.

ok so i bought a pioneer car radio from a friend( it was aquite a deal 100 dollars for 250) and me and him installed it a few day earlier before i wanted to alter it. i noticed that the connector cables (those ones the are all bunched up in the back) well next to them i saw a port where i can plug in a cable to plug into my ipod when i want. this was the day we first put it in? so THen i was like dang i wish i had that cable with me right now and i installed the radio. I spliced every single wire correctly because i know for a fact it worked. i know because when we left his house my radio was working. so anyway a few days later we go back over to his house and i bring the ipod cable with me. i take the stereo again and i plug in the cable. and then i plug in the other end into my ipod. i power up the car and boom it works. Check details below

  1. Where and WHAT is the question?

  2. Sounds like you either blew the fuse that is in the back of the radio or the one in the fuse block under the dash. You also have to make sure that the cables/wires stay put and don't pull out easy.

Next time, instead of using electrical tape, I would suggest using some wire connectors that have shrink wrap on them. Once you crimp the connector, use a lighter to shrink the wrap and therefore preventing shorts. Besides, it looks neater.

    Good luck

  3. I don't know what your asking because your question doesn't say it, but if you post another about this, be more specific on the iPOD connector. Are you using the Auxilary input? (a single male end to male end, that you plug into the headphone jack on your iPOD), or are you using a special iPOD chord that will make the stereo deck display your iPOD info and you control it through the deck? The easiest way to use your iPOD in a car is to hook it up to the Auxiliary Input, then you can control the iPOD from the iPOD itself, instead of through the deck.
