Radoslaw and Korzeniowski dominate on day one of Polish Long Course Nationals – Swimming News
Day one of the 2011 Polish Course Nationals got-off to a sizzling start with the impressive performances of Radoslaw Kawecki and Pawel Korzeniowski in the Men’s 200m backstroke and Men’s 200m butterfly styles at Ostrowiec Swietokrzyski in Poland, on Thursday,
May 19.
Kawecki won the Men’s 200m backstroke meet with a sterling time of 1:56.90 minutes and jumped into the fourth spot in the world rankings behind Ryosuke Irie (1:54.08), Zhang Fenglin (1:56.34) and Tyler Clary (1:56.61), respectively.
Mateusz Wysoczynski finished second with a timing of 2:02.90 minutes, while Krzysztof Morawski wound up third with a time of 2:04.27 minutes in the 200m backstroke final.
Pawel Korzeniowski picked up the top seed in the Men’s 200m butterfly final with the fastest time of 1:55.64 minutes and moved into the fifth place in the world rankings behind Takeshi Matsuda (1:54.12), Ryusuke Sakata (1:55.11), Kaio Almeida (1:55.22) and
Michael Phelps (1:55.34) in the respective meet.
Marcin Cieslak earned the second spot with a time of 1:58.36 minutes, whereas, Mateusz Kierzkowski finished third in a time of 2:00.42 minutes.
Konrad Czerniak clinched the Men’s 50m freestyle title with an intriguing time of 22.11 seconds and jumped into the ninth place in the international rankings. On the other hand, Filip Wypych snared silver with a distinctive time of 22.51 seconds and Lukasz
Gasior wound up third with a timing of 22.74 seconds.
In the Women’s 200m butterfly final, Otylia Jedrzejczak secured the top spot with a time of 2:09.34 minutes. Mirela Olczak grabbed silver with a time of 2:10.30 minutes and Pauline Sikora settled third in 2:11.47 minutes.
The Women’s 200m backstroke title was taken home by Alicja Tchorz with a fastest time of 2:10.63 minutes, while Aleksandra Putra earned second place in 2:12.56 minutes and Klaudia Nazieblo finished third in a time of 2:14.40 minutes.
In the Women’s 50m freestyle final, Aleksandra Urbanczyk notched the golden crown with a time of 25.86 seconds. On the other hand, Anna Dowgiert managed silver with a time of 25.99 seconds, while Katarzyna Wilk rounded out the top three in 26.17 seconds.
The Women’s 1500m freestyle final was clinched by Natalia Charlos with a genuine time of 16:55.94 minutes. Joanna Zachoszcz nabbed silver with a 17:04.65 minutes and Manuela Wikiel settled with the bronze in a time of 17:24.83 minutes.
Stanczyk Prezemyslaw took home the Men's 800m freestyle crown with an intriguing time of 8:02.76 minutes. Karol Zaczynski picked up the second spot in 8:04.71 minutes, while Krzyszstof Pielowski finished third with a time of 8:06.47 minutes.
The Women’s 800m free relay title was taken over by Otylia Jedrzejczak, Katazyna Ptasinska, Joanna Golebiowska and Karolina Szczepaniak with a time of 8:22.73 minutes, while the Men’s 800m free relay crown was captured by Filip Bujoczek, Mateusz Slawinski,
Michal Szuba and Wojciech Szamotulski with a time of 7:30.21 minutes.
