Radwanska/ Rodina stun top seed Peschke/ Srebotnik in quarterfinal – Kremlin Cup 2011
Unseeded team of Urszula Radwanska with Evgeniya Rodina flabbergasted the top seeded team of Kveta Peschke with Katarina Srebotnik in the doubles quarterfinal of the Kremlin Cup 2011.  The two squads took up the gauntlet on the
hard courts of the Olympic Stadium in Moscow, Russia. It took only sixty seven minutes for the unseeded Pole Radwanska and Russian Rodina to get rid of the top seeded duo in straight sets of 6-4, 6-3 on Thursday the 20th of October 2011.
Initiating the first round of the match was Radwanska/ Rodina, who successfully held their serves and then capitalized on a breakpoint to reel straight two games. However, the top seeds were not to be left behind and following
in their footsteps Peschke/ Srebotnik quickly broke back and held their serves to balance the score at 2-2 in the fourth game.
The players matched a blow for a blow and the score progressed on even terms as the two held serves on alternate service games. The scoreboard had tied at three games each by the end of the sixth game. As the players broke each
other one after the other in subsequent games the score levelled at 4-4 in the eighth game.
However, Radwanska/ Rodina smashed a backhand winner to bag their last service game and as the serve switched, Peschke/ Srebotnik double faulted on their serve and gifted away the opening set with a 6-4 victory.
The second round of the match was commenced by Radwanska/ Rodina and they successfully held their serve to open the scoreboard at 1-0. Following behind was the top seeded couple, who too won their service game and the scoreboard
had tied at 1-1 by the end of the second game. In the two subsequent games, the players held their serves and the score levelled at 2-2 by the end of the fourth game.
However in the fifth game Radwanska/ Rodina held serve but Peschke/ Srebotnik came under pressure and double faulted on their serve, endorsing a pivotal breakpoint.  By the end of the sixth game Radwanska/ Rodina had taken the
lead on the scoreboard with a 4-2 score.
During the seventh and the eighth game the squads again won on their respective alternate serves and further pushed the scoreboard to 5-3. The Pole/ Russian were now only a game away from victory and as they held serve for the
last time they hit a marvellous backhand and forehand winners to seal their victory of the set and the match.
The unseeded duo of the Pole/ Russian managed to secure a place in the semi final of the event where they will be facing fourth seeded duo of Anastasia Rodionova with Galina Voskoboeva.
