As a Liverpool supporter I have always given my full support to Rafa. He bought back the Champions League to Anfield, he won us the FA Cup and has also taken us to another Champions League Final and a Carling Cup Final. I supported him through the thick and thin of Klinnsmangate when the board tried to bring in the german behind his back. However for the first time im disappointed with him over this Barry saga. Today the board have announced that they feel £18m for Barry is too much and dont want to pay it.....I agree. Over the past year Liverpool have supported Rafa in the transfer market with £23m Torres, £19m Keane, £18m Mascherano and £11m Babel, not bad really. For once I think Rafa has got it wrong over Barry and having to sell Alonso is just mad. I think Raffa should let the Barry idea go!!

  1. i totaly agree alonso is much better than barry. barry just wont let it go . Rafa cant afford him, o'neil dont want to sell him, theyve allready got keane and on top of that barrys doing brilliant for aston villa

  2. Seems to me that that for once Rafa and the new owners agree, 18 mill for Barry is to much. In fact MON wants only 15 mill but is having to ask 18 as Barry wont put in a transfer request. As it is by not doing so he will recieve a 3 mill loyalty bonus.  MON wants 15, Rafa values him at 15, if Barry is so keen to come then put in a transfer request and everyone will be happy.

  3. I agree completely mate, the Gareth Barry Saga should be put to bed.

Rafa Benitez has had plenty of support, but plenty of hassle too!! The Klinsman ordeal was a bad one, something which the Yanks have apologised for, but probably not to be forgotten.

When it comes to Gareth Barry, the Yanks and Rick Parry are spot on. £18 million is too much for the England International, and with Alonso, Mascherano, Gerrard and Lucas already in the centre midfield position he simply isn't worth the fee to Liverpool Football Club.

With the prospect of paying up to £18 million on Valencia's Spanish International David Silva now, it shows that the Yanks are prepared to dish out the dollars on the players that we need, the players will make the squad stronger and help us launch an attack on the Premiership title, the one we all crave so much.

It's time Rafa stopped being so stubborn and accepted that he is the only person in the entire club who wants Alonso out!

    FORGET BARRY.... KEEP XABI!!

  4. i agree mate

  6. good......

  7. Lee the Red has said everything I wanted to.

Barry is a good midfielder, and would complement Gerrard in midfield, but the question is-DO WE NEED HIM?

I say No, our Midfield is bursting with talent and this is the first time Im with the Yanks in getting Silva!
