Rafa Benitez sacked by Inter Milan: Reports
Rafa was handed a tough task of following the success story of his predecessor, Jose Mourinho. However, Inter have failed to replicate the form they showed last season, under the guidance of the ‘special one’. The 50-year old Spaniard has seen his slide
drop down to 7th in the table and 13 points off the top; although they still have 2 games in hand.
Inter’s performances in the Champions League have also not been up to the mark; finishing second in their group behind new comers Tottenham Hotspur.
Benitez’s side has just recently won the Club World cup and his reaction after the win came as a surprise to everyone. His outburst against club owners to back him in the transfer market or sack him did not go down well with the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan Hierarchy.
“There are three possibilities for the club. One, 100 per cent support for the coach and buy four or five players to build a stronger team with competition among the players to be able to carry on winning matches and trophies.
"Two, carry on like this without a project, without planning and go ahead with one person to blame, for the whole season getting to May this way.
"The third is to speak to my agent and reach an agreement if there is not this support. Simple."
His days after the outburst were considered to be numbered and with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fabio-c13152 Capello one of the few managers linked with the job, the sacking was inevitable.
Massimo Moratti seems to have run out of patience with the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 boss and refused to back his manager in front of the media.
Finally the news has come out that the two parties have parted ways. This means that the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-c40863 manager has now been sacked by two top European clubs twice in one year.
Liverpool parted ways with Rafa after they finished a disappointing 7th in the league and now its Inter has shown him the exit door, for more than one reason.
