Former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 boss, Rafa Benitez revealed that instead of rushing into making a decision over his managerial future, he will wait for the ‘right offer’ and admitted that he would fancy a move to the Premier League.
The 52-year old recently turned down a management offer from the Italian club, Sampdoria who just won promotion to the top division.
Benitez, who managed Liverpool in 350 matches over a span of six years, guided the Reds to Champions League glory in 2005. However, following their dismal performance during the 2009/10 season which saw them finish the league table in the 7th
position, the club relieved him of his duties in June, 2010.
Caste out by the Merseyside club, the Spaniard then took over the reins of the Italian giants, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan in the same month. Even though he helped them win the Club World Cup during his stay at San Siro, Benitez parted ways with Inter after being at the
helm for just six months, as a result of Inter’s poor start to the season.
Despite being heavily linked with reports suggesting his return to Liverpool following Kenny Dalglish’s sacking, the Spaniard failed to get the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 as the Reds appointed Brendan Rodgers as their new manager.
Nevertheless, Benitez divulged that instead of taking over charge of a smaller club, he will wait for the right opportunity to come forward, keeping in view his experience of working with some of the biggest clubs in Europe.
He told the reporters in an interview, “We have had some offers, but it has to be the right offer. Sampdoria were very serious, very professional, and they have a project… I felt they have just got promotion and want to stay in the first division, and my
idea is trying to find a club that can match my desire, my expectations to challenge for trophies.”
Despite expressing his contentment of drawing interest from multiple suitors, Benitez let out his longing of getting a chance to work with a Premier League outfit in the future, but insisted that he is willing to take up any alluring challenges.
He added, “The priority is http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 but you have to be ready for any other challenge.”
Following Harry Redknapp’ sacking by Tottenham Hotspur earlier in June, Benitez is believed to be one of the contenders for the vacant managerial post at White Hart Lane.
