The fifty-year-old retired footballer Rafael Benitez who until now was the acting head coach of Internazionale has been rumoured to have been sacked.
Benitez has coached numerous teams since starting his managerial career in 1986 with Real Madrid’s youth squad.
Benitez has gone through numerous high profile clubs like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-c40863, Real Madrid B and Internazionale.
The Spanish coach came to the Nerazzurri post in June of 2010 during the summer World Cup in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/South-Africa-c757. He has not been performing up to the standard required from him as the team is not winning enough matches as they had hoped.
Rumours had been floating about around the coach that he might get sacked and even the Club’s president commented on the matter right now that they are not happy with their coach but there was no such official decision made at that point that could have
been announced.
Rafael Benitez had a six-year tenure at Anfield before he came to Internazionale, and the Red fans do not remember this coach with a high standard as the club suffered a financial crisis that was partly blamed on their last coach.
Reports have started to come in about the Spanish coach that his agent is negotiating a release contract from the Club World Cup champions’ team of Internazionale.
To be fair, many fans do not blame the new coach as a lot of their star players have left the club and the ones that have stayed are out of form and are not performing at the level expected from them.
Confirmed reports have come in that Rafael Benitez has went back to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Manuel-c23383 Garcia Quilon is in talks with the Nerazzurri to tear up his managerial contract.
Manuel Garcia said, “We are negotiating with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 to rescind the contract. We have not yet reached a definitive conclusion. Tomorrow we will meet again and continue with the negotiations to find a solution."
The agent has been in talks with club lawyer Angelo Cappellini, technical director Marco Branca and Vice president Rinaldo Ghelfi Internazionale to work out something in regard with this manager’s future at the club.
