Rafael Nadal and other top players (Part One)
For the upcoming two months Rafael Nadal’s top priority should be staying healthy and strong. He had an excellent performance in the French Open, Wimbledon and U.S. Open. The world No. 1 had outstanding results in New York, despite losses in Toronto and
Cincinnati.
This Spanish star’s other top 9 friends have a little more reason to put in good performances during the upcoming matches.
Rafael Nadal: The only thing this world No. 1 player should do is get hurt in the upcoming matches. The green hard courts haven’t always been affectionate to him. He shouldn’t overplay with the year ending championships, which will soon
start after one or two months.
Recently, he completed his career Grand Slam by winning the U.S. Open 2010, and therefore the youngest player in the open era to do so.
There is not much homework for this young Spanish player as his performance is throughout mind blowing. He is often noted for his aggressive game, his heavy topspin ground strokes, footwork, speed and consistency. But rather than going for service winners,
he should rely on the consistency of his serve to win more points.
Novak Djokovic: Novak has justified his world No. 2 ranking, with his performance in the U.S. Open 2010 finals and semifinals. The Serb is getting back into his early 2008 day by day.
This tennis star has a long history of rivalry with Rafael Nadal, therefore to grab the world No. 1 ranking this player needs to work hard. Rather than giving tough looks, he should concentrate on his service, forehand and backhand as he is competing to
be one of the fastest severs in the game.
Novak Djokovic, U.S. Open runner-up needs to utilize consistent ball bouncing before serves and backhand under spin drop shot. Moreover, he needs to work on his sliced backhand as well.
Roger Federer: Federer has always proved himself in Grand Slams events. Till now he has won sixteen Grand Slams and plans to get to 20 now. However, it’s really important for this world No. 3 to start coming up with effective results in
the tournaments outside the big ones. Confidence is really important.
Unfortunately, this Swiss professional tennis star is not showing consistency, which is one of his weak points. He was very aggressive during the U.S. Open series but in the later stages his performance was not eye catching, and finally he lost to Novak
Djokovic. All spectators, who love watching and following tennis, like an aggressive Federer.
Other than that, Federer is an all rounder, who can adapt to any kind of surface and could win points through his fluid style of play. He plays a very effective smash, which includes backhand smash and jump smash, which are really rare in today’s tennis
world.
Andy Murray: Throughout the year, sometimes he was up and sometimes down, which is really confusing for the viewers and for his fans. The world No. 4 played well at the Australian Open but unfortunately could not justify with his ranking
in other three Grand Slams events.
On one side this Scottish player wins a Rogers Cup in Toronto and on the other hand he loses in the third round at the U.S. Open. The confused Murray is hoping for a grand finale at the year ending championships.
He needs to boost his momentum, so that he could be able to give consecutive performances. He needs to work on his game as compared to the top three players, as there is so much to catch in the upcoming year 2011.
Robin Soderling: The Swede has a very sparkling history, as he is a two-time French Open finalist and a strong player, who took Rafael Nadal out in Paris. He was recognized as one of the top players, but unfortunately he has lost that reputation
during the past year and a half.
Robin Soderling needs to comeback into his old form because his fans and viewers would love to see the two-time French Open finalist winning grand slams.
Defeating Rafael Nadal or Roger Federer once again could motivate him in the next year.
