Rafael Nadal and other top players (Part two)
The remaining five cohorts of Rafael Nadal, who have a little more reason to put in good performances, are as follows:
Nikolay Davydenko: The world No. 6, who is also known as Mr. Personality has disappointed his viewers in 2010. It is not fair, if we declare him as Mr. Disappointing because it’s mostly not his fault. His broken wrist, which is still healing,
kept him away from the finals. Fortunately, Nikolay Davydenko has plenty of points to declare himself innocent, but that is till the end of this season, so he needs to motivate himself and start working.
Other than that, this Russian tennis player has a very unique baseline game, for which he is often noted as well. He forces the spectators to leave their seats, when he uses hard and penetrating ground strokes on both his wings. His ground strokes show professionalism
and are technically efficient on both forehand and backhand.
Tomas Berdych: Tomas Berdych’s performance was not bad at the French Open and Wimbledon, when he struggled to reach the semifinals and final. Regardless of his performance in the French Open and Wimbledon, he had poor starts in the U.S.
Open, where he was defeated in the opening matches.
This smart and young tennis star needs to work hard on his game. As the expectations are high, therefore he needs to motivate himself and should come out with good results in the year ending championships.
Fernando Verdasco: No doubt, the Spaniard played a nice game at Flushing Meadows this season but disappointed in the U.S. Open. He defeated his strong competitor David Ferrer in one of the matches during the tournament.
More tellingly, his mission will be accomplished if he reaches the World Tour Finals for a second year back to back.
The world No. 8 needs to work a lot on his serving tactics rather than standing behind the baseline.
Fernando Verdasco is an offensive baseliner, who is comfortable on all kind of surfaces. His forehand is usually considered as one of his best shots, which explains his improved results since 2009. With all such strong points he needs to struggle with his
nerves while facing the best players in the world.
Mikhail Youzhny: He has entertained spectators and viewers throughout the world with his fantastic game and professionalism. After regaining a position in the top 10 players, he has boosted his game and hopefully, he will entertain the viewers
once again in the year ending championships.
Like all other players this Russian has some faults in his game and needs to work hard. His weakest point is committing unforced errors back to back. He needs to decrease his tendency of committing such a vast range of errors and should come out with some
impressive results.
Mikail Youzhny is often recognized as a person with a unique backhand, he follows his backhand with both hands, but his right hand remains on the racket. His backhand is considered to be one of his best shots.
Other than having such unique qualities, he only needs to work on his unforced errors.
Andy Roddick: This American tennis star, has unlimited excuses to defend himself but he needs to buck up and start working hard. Andy Roddick faced some hurdles during the season, which includes some injuries and rivalries.
Moreover, he missed last year’s exciting Wimbledon final. He needs to get back into his original playing style because soon he will be facing media and writers, hopefully like all other players he’ll be proving himself in the upcoming events.
