Rafael Nadal attends a press conference conducted for Champions of Drinking campaign – Tennis News
On Monday, world number four, Rafael Nadal, was seen smiling at the press conference that was conducted for Champions Drink Responsibly by Bacardi. The event was held in one of the most beautiful arena in Sitges, Spain. Finally,
the left-handed Spanish superhero was witnessed with a cheerful smile that was missing from his personality for almost five months.
All this time, the 26-year-old Spaniard was struggling to prove his fitness and missed some major tournaments that also deteriorated his ranking. He was forced to exit at the Wimbledon Championships after an enthralling five-setter
against the Czech underdog, Lukas Rosol, in the second round. He hurt his troublesome left-knee in that contest and didn’t return to the tennis courts to date. However, the 11-time Grand Slam Champion plans on scheduling a return in the Qatar ExxonMobil Open
at Doha, commencing from 1st January, 2013.
Nadal made a successful return to the practice courts on Saturday and was extremely ecstatic to have hit the ball at the same speed and accuracy from where he left. He updated his facebook page and uploaded a video on YouTube as
well where he was captured serving the ball at the practice courts along with his uncle c*m coach, Toni Nadal.
While conducting a press conference on Monday, the Spanish hero confessed, “I think I am feeling better, the knee is improving the right way and I am happy to be on court another time after a few months outside. I am just enjoying
the feeling to be playing tennis another time and, well, it will be another period of my recovery.”
The Managing Director of Bacardi, Jose Manuel Barcelo, was also present alongside Nadal in the during the press conference and the main theme of conducting the mass communication was to raise aware and answer question about the
appointment of new Champion for their cautious drinking campaign. It was a good experience for Nadal to face the media reporters after a long time. A positive aspect of his injury layoff was that he found some time to enjoy with his family and friends after
a very long delay that was caused by hectic tennis schedules.
