World number four, Rafael Nadal, has finally hinted at the return to the tennis courts after a major injury layoff that kept him out of the business since June this year. He hurt his knee in the second round of the Wimbledon Championships
and lost the encounter that is one of the biggest upsets of the season which was recorded by the Czech underdog, Lukas Rosol.
Nadal missed the London Olympics in the process of injury recovery. He was the initial candidate chosen to carry the flag of Spain in the field of London in the opening ceremony of Olympics but had to pass on the privilege to his
compatriot. He missed the US Open Championships as well and also the Barclays Association of Tennis Professionals World Tour Finals.
Nadal is coached by his uncle Toni. It was good to know that he has recovered well to hit the practice courts back in a week’s time. Toni Nadal stated in a telephonic interview to the local media representative, “Next week we will
be back on the court; that’s the plan. Things are going well, but the doctor said we had to really strengthen the tendon, and we're doing that.”
Nadal who is 26-year-old has been troubled by the left-knee injury since the inception of his professional career. It was thought that the Spanish superhero will not be able to play any physical sport at the age of 19 due to the
damage done to his knee but the specially designed shoes came to his rescue. However, the burn out of knee finally occurred in the Wimbledon 2012 and that caused a major layoff.
Toni added that the former world number one is looking perform in the exhibition in Abu Dhabi towards the end of the current season which will mark his return in the limelight. He will march on to Doha to register an official return
at the tennis courts and then heads on to the Australian Open at Melbourne where he was the finalist this year. However, it is impossible for the left-handed Spanish star to get ready for the Davis Cup World Group final tie that commences from November 16.
