Rafael Nadal gets furious at Yannick Noah's comments about Spanish players – Tennis News
World No.2, Rafael Nadal, has been very critical of the fact that French tennis player Yannick Noah alleged Spanish players of using unauthorised medicines for extra energy. Noah asked the sporting authorities to have dope tests
for all Spanish players and this kind of an open ended blame is highly disliked by the professional players and David Ferrer, Spanish Number Two has also bashed Noah for coming up with such lame comments about Spanish players.
Nadal said “He knows better than anybody that to say that today is a totally stupid thing because you know how many anti-doping controls we have during the season, year by year. So in my opinion, the article that he wrote was from
a kid and when one kid says something it's not painful for us."
Spaniard was very furious over the suspicious comments from French tennis legend and explained his point of view with utmost anger. He is currently playing in Barclays ATP World Tour Finals and has already defeated Mardy Fish in
a close three-set match. He had a slight stomach pain during the match but he thinks he will recover before his second encounter and will be 100% fit.
Noah’s original comments about Spanish players were “It was the same on the soccer fields, the basketball halls or on the roads of the Tour de France. Today they are running faster than us, are much stronger and only leave us the
bread crumbs”.
Spain has been leading the world of football, cycling and tennis; several players has made names like David Villa of Barcelona who plays as a striker in Spain’s International team is considered to be one of the best strikers in
the world.
Similarly, in the field of tennis they have the likes of Nadal and Ferrer that are amongst the top 5 players in the world so apparently it is not what the Frenchmen wanted. He wants each and every one of them being tested for unauthorized
medicine usage.
Nadal disliked his comments and stated that with such improved technology and anti-doping officials prolific enough to capture any doubtful personality, there is no point someone should accuse us for being elite in the sporting
world.
Answering a question about his fitness after that sudden stomach pain, he said, “I am worried about getting better for practice [on Monday] but two days are enough." He faces-off Roger Federer in his upcoming encounter in ATP Tour
Finals.
