Rafael Nadal hopes to be an improved player in 2012 – Tennis News
Rafael Nadal is practicing hard at courts to regain the lost composure and strength that disable him to win major title matches especially against the world number one, Novak Djokovic. He feels that the missing instinct from the
game will be re-established in the three weeks of training and he will crash into the courts with his old posture and game play.
World number two, Nadal, was talking about his lack of commitment in the final stages of the tournament and stated that he has been missing something from his game, he said, “I am looking forward to rising above the past few months,
which were not positive."
His enthusiasm and ability to hit back at the critics with his tremendous fire power has diminished in 2011 and he lost six consecutive finals of the major tournaments at the hands of the ten title winner this year, Djokovic.
Talking about his inferior game play in the final stages of the tournament, he stated, “I have lacked a bit more passion for the game, intensity in my strokes, strength in my legs and mental strength. But the most important thing
that is missing is mental strength, which makes all the rest possible."
Nadal doesn’t consider himself to be in a pain or hurry to recapture his throne and he needs no psychologist to take care of him. He just needs time and breaks within tournament to prepare him for every big task. He was asked to
consider visiting a psychologist but he clearly refused that on the basis that he doesn’t need him for his professional tennis career.
This purple patch will soon be over and he will be on top of his game once again, he just needs to take care of his body and play a little less tennis that would enable him to focus on his task and help him win major titles in
2012.
He is just 25-years-old at the moment and still has a lot of tennis left in him. He will definitely rise to the occasion in the next year and dethrone the Serbian with his guile and speed. He has realized that he just needs to
minimize the use of forehand against Djokovic’s favourite backhand shots to make the Serbian earn his points.
It will be an intense battle amongst the two former world number one’s, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer, and reigning world number one, Novak Djokovic. Fans will have to wait and see who has the better temperament to deal with his
rivals.
