Rafael Nadal is fired up for Davis Cup despite a very hectic season – Tennis News
World No.2, Rafael Nadal, has still one major battle to fight before signing off from 2011 season, the Davis Cup final tie against Argentinean team. It has been a very tough season for the Spanish No.1 as he played tennis throughout
the year without any major breaks. The only break he took during this season was before ATP World Tour Finals when he came back to tennis arena after six-weeks. Apart from that Spaniard has been playing non-stop tennis and it is very difficult for a player
to continue its prolific form for 365 days-a-year because body needs to regain some energy and stamina.
Despite the fact that it has been a very hectic season, Nadal is all fired up to bring glory to his country by winning the fifth Davis Cup title for Spain. His team consist of World No.5, David Ferrer, World No.20, Feliciano Lopez
and World No.24, Fernando Verdasco. The final tie will be played in Seville, Spain from Dec 2-4.
He was mistaken for his sayings after an early ATP Tour Finals exit. He felt that he had “less passion for game” but earlier this week he cleared the air by saying “Things get blown out of proportion very often because conclusions
are drawn far beyond the meaning of what's said. It's true that this season has been tough. More than a lack of passion, it is weariness from many years of playing at this level, week after week.”
Nadal was practicing hard at courts and needed to be at his top of his game before the start of Davis Cup. Talking about his Davis Cup dream, he said, “The important thing now is to work each day at 100 percent with the excitement
needed to win the Davis Cup."
Spain and Argentina reached the Davis Cup Final in 2008 where the away team flabbergasted everyone with a triumph on Argentine soil. Rafael Nadal unfortunately couldn’t participate due to a severe injury. This time Spain’s team
is much stronger and they are playing at their home soil. So, people are expecting an even stronger performance then 2008 from the Spanish team.
The tournament will kick-off in few days at one of the most prestigious sporting arenas in Seville, Olympic Stadium. Rafael Nadal will lead his team to that arena and is expected to overpower their Argentine rivals in all aspects
of the game. It is the most awaited event of the year especially for Spanish tennis fanatics.
