Rafael Nadal is satisfied with his performance this year – Tennis News
Spaniard has left for ATP World Tour Finals on Sunday and looks to clinch this year-end title to end another successful season. He believes that even if he doesn’t perform in London, O2 Arena, still his season has been very good.
He knows that he is one step away from reclaiming his World No.1 spot and he is aware of the fact that he needs to raise his game to the next level to stop his arch rival from snatching his glorious moments.
Nadal had three weeks rest and now he faces-off against the top eight elite players of the world in London. He believes that his rest and training at home has given him more confidence and fans will see a much more improved performance
from him in the upcoming tournament.
While talking to the Spanish media representatives on his departure to London, World No.2, Nadal, said “I have worked as a physical training aspects of the game, something I can do almost never by the calendar that we have the
players which seems to have shelved the shoulder problem that forced him to lessen the pace of preparation. I've been training three days normally.
Talking about the draw of the tournament, Nadal was completely satisfied as there is no chance to pick up the draw for one that can best suit his needs because there are top eight players of the world playing, hence, no escaping
from the fact that everyone is capable of doing wonders. He added “we cannot choose to have a good draw when they are the best in the world. Federer is playing phenomenal and has won the last two tournaments, Tsonga had a good end of year, and Fish, perhaps
with some inconvenience, we will see as it comes. Start with one win is vital”.
He appreciated the performance of British No.1, Andy Murray, and stated that he has been very good and will be a tough competitor. Djokovic has been struggling with an injury but he is definitely a gem and has all the capabilities
to win this title. Ferrer has been consistent throughout the year, and his physical and mental strength is the reason that he is still in top 5 world rankings.
With three titles to his name including the Grand Slam triumph in French Open, Nadal remains one of the best players to date and his participation in Davis Cup will make it much more interesting as well.
