  1. Not much you can say but congratulations.

He's put in a lot of hard work and his determination has paid off.

He's undoubtedly the best player currently but we'll see how long he can stay on top.

Just remember that if it wasn't for Federer, Nadal would have been the number 1 player for the last three + years.

  2. It's about time. WOOHOO!!!

  3. This year with his 2 majors at French and Wimby along with his 5 other titles, other players had already put him at number one, and think of him as the top player, even if he remained second.

Can blame them really. With key wins over Federer, 3 times, as well as Novak 3 times, until Saturday, no one can deny he earned it as a player should. However with hard courts remaining through the Masters Series Final in November, as much as Nadal has improved on the surface, it takes its toll on you/him, and against the top 10 players, it becomes even more difficult for his style of game to be successful. However, to this point he has certainly earned everything he has accomplished.

  4. yes he has earned it.. he has been very consistent..... winning french open and wimbledon back to back. he showed his mental toughness

he did lose to djovick last week, but he lost to one of the best hardcourt players out there today..

i think nadal has to work that much harder on hardcourts and make some changes, but he can certainly have success on that surface as well, but it will take its tool on him, especially having to go through a tough draw...

  5. In true, it's very nice, no? All I can say is thank you to everyone, thank you to Roger, thank you to Karlovic and thank you to ATP.

  6. V-A-M-O-S

  7. I can say Rafa Rox!!! Vamos. He did it! Great job.

  8. Nadal has worked very hard for it, he deserves it. However I still think that federer is the better player, definitely more artistic in his play. I think federer also has become too content at no.1. Whilst Nadal has experienced vast improvement, federer hasn't. I think Federer has to start working hard and begin to try a learn how to combat nadal's game and particularly work on his tennis on clay court which isn't nearly as good as it could be.

  9. Congratulations he totally deserves it!

  10. I can say

    "Congratz to him" = )

  11. I can say that he will lose it soon if he doesn't get better in the hard courts.  He's been excellent in clay and grass winning both Grand Slams, but he lost in straight sets to Djokovic in Cincinnati in hard courts after winning the Rogers Cup. He hasn't won the US Open and Roger is very good in hard courts. So I think he has to get better in the hard ones to stay up there a while.

  12. It is long overdue!  Congrats to Rafa - he has worked hard and it has paid off. He is showing us a brilliant level of tennis that is truly exciting to watch!  For those who are commenting on his loss to Djoker in Cincy - remember that Djoker was out in the early rounds in Wimby and Toronto so he was extremely well-rested. Also, Cincy has the fastest hard courts in the world so....I think Rafa has improved his hard court game considerably and I think I see gold for Spain!  Vamos Rafa!!!!!!!

  13. i am hoping federer takes his number back position back as soon as possible
