Rafael Nadal’s ready to dominate all the clay courts for the next season – Tennis News
King of clay, Rafael Nadal, is all set to rock his next tennis campaign and once again targets the world number spot. He had a rough patch due to his plagued knee and could not contest for any major tournaments, consequently, his
world ranking have suffered to a great deal.
At the green grass courts of Wimbledon, the Spaniard discovered a partial tear of patella tendon and swelling of the left knee and resultantly he had to make a quick departure. He lost at the hands of the Czech underdog, Lukas
Rosol in the second round.
Talking to the media, Nadal said, "My recovery is going well and the doctors are pleased. I have to look at my career with a five-year view. I considered having surgery, but the doctors have always preferred not to take risks with
my treatment. I would like to return in January. I don't expect to return and win the Australian Open, I have to be realistic. It wouldn't bother me if I slipped down to 15th in the world as long as inside I knew was able to continue. I want to be 100 percent
in time for Monte Carlo and the run-up to Roland Garros."
The 26-year-old Spanish contestant was the finalist at the Australian Open 2012. He exhibited a smooth tour in the earlier round giving his challengers straight sets defeat but in the last match, he was unable to rally beyond the
reigning world number one, Novak Djokovic. Despite of his sincere efforts to win the 2013 Grand Slam at the hard courts of Melbourne, he is indisputably aware of his position in the competitive tennis now. He will start from scratch but this time will experience
the greatest test.
The left-hander dominated the clay courts and made it impossible for his competitors to take the lead. He avenged his initial loss by seizing the winning titles in a streak for example at the Monte-Carlo Rolex Master, Open Sabadell
Atlántico and Internazionali BNL d’Italia. Nadal has prevailed over the French Open for years now and pocketed away his seventh title this season. Similarly, next year he is confident that no one dares to break his monopoly, until he finally rests in peace!
