Van der Vaart wants Mathijsen to join Ajax
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, Rafael Van Der Vaart, has urged his Dutch teammate and close friend, Joris Mathijsen, to leave Hamburg and join Ajax in the summer transfer window.
Mathijsen wants to leave the Rothosen at the end of the season and has already stated his desire to join Ajax. Van Der Vaart, who himself emerged from the youth ranks of Ajax, believes it is the right time for Mathijsen to join the Dutch Champions.
Van Der Vaart said, "I think Joris will fit in perfectly at Ajax. I gave him the advice to move to Amsterdam. If I were him, then I would do it"
The full-back has stated his desire to play for a bigger club and he believes that Ajax will provide him with that opportunity.
“Ajax would not be a step backward for me. They play Champions League football and are the biggest club in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Netherlands-c753." said Mathijsen
The 31-year-old has made 145 appearances and has scored six goals in his almost five year stay at the Hamburg. He has also made 68 appearances for the Dutch national team.
Klose future uncertain at Bayern
Bayern Munich striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Miroslav-Klose-c26049, and his agent have failed to reach an agreement on a new contract with the Bavarian officials and the striker is certain to leave the club in the summer transfer window.
Klose is reportedly unhappy with the contract conditions and wants a long-term deal with the club, and the new manager, Jupp Heynckes, has also stated his desire to keep the former Werder Bremen star at Allianz Arena.
Several European clubs including Juventus, Sunderland and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019 are interested in signing the former World Cup Golden Shoe winner and they are likely to lure the 32-year-old with a better offer than Bayern.
Klose’s agent is expected to meet the club officials once again later this week for the last meeting between the two parties and will decide where the future lies for the German International.
