Rafael Van der Vaart credits Harry Redknapp for his success
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Rafael Van der Vaart has credited Harry Redknapp for helping him settle in at the North London Premier League club.
The Dutchman suggests Redknapp’s demeanour and character about the place is one of the reasons why everybody adores him, but also praised the Tottenham coach’s ability to pick a player.
Van der Vaart has thrived in English football since arriving as a late deadline day signing from Real Madrid during the 2010 summer. He has already netted an impressive 11 goals and says Redknapp’s management style has been integral to his seamless transition
at the club.
Speaking to reporters and talking about Harry Redknapp’s management style, the mercurial Dutchman said, “He’s a great man, great eye for good players, and everybody loves him.”
Van der Vaart concedes he knew little of Redknapp prior to completing his transfer to the Spurs but said, “I only saw a nice man, and I think he’s also good in the press. You know, always speaks good about everybody, so that’s why everybody loves him.”
Tottenham Hotspur star Rafael Van der Vaart also said that his boyhood hero was Brazilian legend, Romario.
