Rafael Van der Vaart, Tottenham’s star midfielder has come out after his team’s fantastic run of results and stated that his team mates know that they can beat anyone in the English Premier League on the club’s current run of form.
Tottenham started the season slowly with a defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford but Harry Redknapp’s men have gained momentum since then and notched up a good run of results.
Tottenham drew 2-2 with Newcastle in an exciting fixture a couple of weeks ago but their win over Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385 at the weekend meant that their Premier League campaign was back on track as they have won five out of their last
six fixtures. Harry Redknapp’s men have one eye on their Europa League commitments as well but the depth of the squad at White Hart Lane means that the Englishman can afford to rotate intelligently whenever possible.
Rafael Van der Vaart has been vital to Tottenham’s results thus far as the Dutchman has continued his form which saw him win over the club’s fans last season. The former Real Madrid playmaker has already scored four times in Tottenham’s
last five fixtures which means that he is indeed running high on confidence.
Van der Vaart spoke to the media recently and said, "Last week we drew at Newcastle, everyone was disappointed and that means everything, it says a lot about the team. We’re so confident at the moment, we know we can win every
game, especially when we play our game and play good football.”
He added, "It was important to win at Blackburn. I don’t think we played our best game but we won and that’s what matters. We have five wins and a draw [in the last six matches] and as I said, we have a lot of confidence.” Tottenham
are currently 5th in the English Premier League table but their aim will be to get into the top four teams come May 2012 so that the North London club can play in the UEFA Champions League next season and strengthen their squad in the process.
