Rafael faces Roger for a charity exhibition match in Madrid: The current world number one tennis star from Spain, Rafael Nadal faced the Swiss tennis legend Roger Federer in the second charity exhibition match in the Spanish capital Madrid.
It is to be notified that both the tennis stars raised a huge amount of twenty six hundred thousand dollar in the first match of the two charity matches between the tennis giants.
In the first exhibition match Nadal endured a crucial defeat from the current world number two Roger Federer. It was a three setter battle of tennis between the two greats of the game in which Federer proved to be a bit too tough for the Spaniard and snatched
the staggering victory by 4-6, 6-3 and 6-3.
The first match of the event was to raise money for Roger Federer foundation and the second match of was held to raise money for the Foundation of the Spanish tennis superstar Rafael Nadal. The twenty four year old tennis veteran Nadal seemed pretty excited
and expressed his thoughts in a very happy mood. Nadal told the media that the match was truly very special for him as he is joined by one of the best players in the history of tennis, Roger Federer for a very noble and humble cause.
Nadal told that the only love of his life is the game of tennis and he considers himself very lucky that he has been able to play his favourite game. The Spaniard added that the money raised by the matches will be used to help the children to play the game
of tennis because most of the children are unable to play tennis because of financial problems.
The match held at the Caja Magica tennis court and won by the three Grand Slam winner of the year Rafael Nadal by 7-6(3), 4-6 and 6-1. Moreover the former world number one tennis star Carlos Moya was also present to watch the match.
In the match Roger and Rafael showed the best of their games and gave each other a very strong challenge. In the first set of the match Federer endured three break points. On the other hand Nadal saved a break point as well. In the first set Nadal remained
dominant and his serve seemed a bit stronger as compared to that of Roger Federer. The Spaniard clinched the victory of the first set with an ace and built some pressure for the world number two Federer.
The second set of the match belonged to Roger Federer as he managed to play a better game than his opponent. Federer clinched the break point in the fifth game of the second set and sealed the victory to level the match. But it was Rafael Nadal who bounced
back stronger than before and took control of the match pretty marvellously. The world champ snatched double break point to increase his lead up to five points to one in the decider set of the match. After that Nadal smashed a brilliant forehand shot to secure
the victory of the match.
After the match Nadal thanked his opponent Roger Federer for his presence in the event. He said that he is really honoured that Roger Federer has travelled to Spain to raise fund for his foundation. He continued that he is very happy that he has been able
to raise a huge amount of money for the children. He said that charity events like these can improve the living standards of many people and it helps people come closer.
The charity exhibition matches between the world number one and current world number two were exciting and thrilling. The matches were a vivid proof of Nadal’s strong friendship with the Swiss veteran Roger Federer.
