Rafael van der Vaart looking forward to Villa Park trip

Tottenham’s new signing Rafael van der Vaart warned his team-mates that they had to improve their form in the Premier League to finish in the top four again, which would guarantee their qualification into the Champions League once again. The Spurs under
Harry Redknapp finished fourth last season in the Premier League and since then have been in good form, both domestically and in Europe.
They have proved time and time again that they are capable of going against the elite of Europe, an example of which is their win over http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gareth-Bale-c14422 was the difference between the two sides
and since then has been on every top clubs target list.
Redknapp’s men have done very well for themselves in the English Premier League too; they started off with a surprise win over London rivals Arsenal. They then went on to draw with defending champions http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 and current second place holders Manchester City.
Sitting at fifth place on the table, Tottenham are outside bets for the Premier League crown.
However, surprise losses against sides battling relegation; West Ham and Wigan, have made the pundits question if Redknapp can repeat the achievements from last season. Dutch international Van der Vaart revealed he expected consistency from his side at the
start of the New Year and the second half of the campaign.
Tottenham take on Aston Villa on Boxing Day, Van der Vaart said while speaking to reporters, “We have to win our games and have confidence that we will be in the top four. There are a lot of good teams but we play well against the big teams and (against)
some of the smaller clubs we have problems.”
Van der Vaart has been important for the Spurs, scoring both the goals in their 2-1 win over Villa in October at White Hart Lane. The playmaker revealed he was looking forward to the fixture at Villa Park and was confident a good result there would help
them to catch up to Chelsea, who are currently four points clear at fourth place.
Despite some very poor performances this season, the Dutch playmaker was confident his side would get a good result against Aston Villa. He said, “I played there once with the national team against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749. It's a nice stadium and they are a great team.I
expect a difficult match but we're going to win.”
