Inspirational Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, Rafael van der Vaart, has asserted that he is completely settled and happy at the White Hart Lane. However, the 28-year-old Dutchman revealed that it was hard for him adapting to rigours of the Barclays Premier
League.
Van der Vaart completed his switch to Tottenham Hotspur from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Real-c30728 Madrid on the very last day of the 2010 summer transfer window. The move paid off as the Dutchman turned out to be one of the best signings of the previous premier league season.
The playmaker was one of the iconic players in Harry Redknapp’s squad as he played an important role in helping the Spurs to reach the quarter-finals of their debut UEFA Champions League season. The 28-year-old scored twice in seven European matches for
the London-based club.
Moreover, Van der Vaart was exemplary in the Premier League.The 28-year-old went on to score 13 goals in 28 League matches for Tottenham Hotspur and helped them to finish fifth in the Barclays Premier League.
The Dutch maestro has revealed that he was very nervous when he joined Tottenham but has insisted that he is now settled in the League and is happy to be a part of Harry Redknapp’s squad.
“In the first year you come into the club and you don’t really know anyone, you are a little nervous and you have to get used to the league, the lifestyle, but now we’re really settled and I feel great here.” The 28-year-old midfielder told Tottenham Hotspur’s
official website.
Van der Vaart joined Tottenham Hotspur for the pre-season training last week and is happy with his progress ahead of the next season. The Dutchman has vowed to give his best in the upcoming term.
“Seriously though, it’s been good. We’ve all had a holiday and now we’re back in training and getting ready for a hard season. I feel great. I did my fitness sessions during the summer, so I feel good,” the Dutchman concluded.
Rafael van der Vaart scored 15 goals from the midfield in 36 appearances for Tottenham Hotspur last season.
