Tottenham Hotspur playmaker Rafael van der Vaart has insisted he has not been in talks with Hamburg, despite being constantly linked with a return to the club in the summer transfer window.
After the departure of Harry Redknapp from the club, many players have been linked with a move away. The English manager was sacked at the end of the season after the Spurs failed to qualify for Champions League football in the upcoming season.
While Redknapp managed to lead Tottenham Hotspur to a fourth place finish in the Premier League, since http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 won the European competition, they automatically took up Spurs spot in the highly competitive European tournament.
Even though Redknapp was not to blame for Tottenham Hotspur’s failure to qualify for the Champions League, the club hierarchy decided it was time for change. With his departure though, a mass exodus is expected in the summer transfer which may or may not
include Rafael van der Vaart.
According to reports, billionaire Klaus-Michael Kuehne is willing to help his local side sign expensive players this summer, and it seems Van der Vaart is at the top of his list. He admitted the Dutch playmaker was a priority, if he was available that is.
Kuehne said in an interview:
“I am an investor for new players and am definitely available.”
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Netherlands-c753 international admitted he loved the German side, where he spent three years from 2005 to 2008, but confirmed that there was no deal with the side. According to Van der Vaart he was still contracted to Tottenham Hotspur and would remain with
them.
Van der Vaart admitted:
“I am happy and I am surprised myself how much I still love Hamburg, currently however - there is no contact.”

He made 112 appearances in his three years at the club in all competitions and scored 48 goals, helping them to the UEFA Intertoto
Cup in both 2005 and 2007. He is still a fan favourite, which is why he has been strongly linked with a return.
