Rafael van der Vaart wants Liverpool or Chelsea move
The Real Madrid midfielder, Rafael van der Vaart has admitted that it would be close to impossible for him to reject Liverpool or Chelsea if the two teams were to make a formal offer for the player.
The Dutch midfielder, who plays as a play maker is currently twenty seven years old. He is not the straight of first choice starter at Real Madrid and has constantly been linked to a move away from the Bernabeu every since he was first signed by the Spanish giants.
Most people assumed that he would move to another Spanish club, but he said the relationship he has with the Real Madrid team makes it impossible for him to play for any other team in Spain. He had said that even thought this happened he was still open to a move to the big guns of England.
He also admitted to being more than flattered by the fact that there was interest shown in the player by Chelsea and Liverpool. He has also admitted that if either one of the two teams was to make a bid for him he would be more than happy to sign for them. He said this because he was considering the fact that he would get to play more first team football, which he has been longing to do every since he moved to the Spanish capital.
He has also gone onto say that he has a relationship with Madrid which would allow the club to understand his situation and they would also be happy for the player if he managed to get more first team action. He was reported to have said, "I think I have the relationship with Madrid where they understand my position and would let me hold talks.
"I expect the majority of transfers to be concluded in the next two weeks, and if Chelsea or Liverpool wanted to talk with me I would at the very least listen to what they have to say.
"They are both giants, and if they could offer first-team football it may prove impossible to turn down."
The Real Madrid midfielder said that he was more than happy with what he has at Madrid but still managed to mention how first team football was still his priority and he would prefer to be back on the field rather than on the bench.
"Real Madrid is the most prestigious club in the world and I am happy here and also in Spain, but I am at the age where I have to be playing first-team football," he explained.
"The boss knows how much he plans to use me, and if he is willing to listen to offers for me.
"I wouldn't be willing to play for any clubs in Spain out of respect for Madrid, so in my eyes the only other place to go would be the Premier League.
"It's the only league that competes with the standard of La Liga."
