Rafael van der Vaart wants to see out his career with Tottenham
Tottenham’s summer signing Rafael van der Vaart has expressed his desire to see out the rest of his playing days at White Hart Lane.
The Dutch international claims that he is enjoying life at Tottenham so much that he would be happy to commit his future to London club. Speaking on his time in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749, Van der Vaart said, “I love it here. I love the players and I love the down-to-earth
attitude at the club. If I have the opportunity, I would stay here for the rest of my career.”
Rafael van der Vaart started his career with Ajax, working his way up the ranks and into the first team over a period of seven years. He achieved worldwide recognition during his time with Real Madrid. The midfielder spent two years with the Spanish giants;
however, he struggled to make it into the starting eleven after the huge influx of players at the club during the 2009/10 campaign.
Tottenham picked up the out-of-favour midfielder for a price of 8 million pounds, bringing him to White Hart Lane on a four-year contract. His transfer fee is turning out to be the bargain of the decade.
The Dutch international has been instrumental to Tottenham’s success this season. Van der Vaart excels at bringing his teammates into the game, regularly creating goalscoring opportunities for the Tottenham strikers. Not only that, but he can score goals
seemingly at will. The Dutchman has chalked up a phenomenal 11 goals in all competitions this season.
Right now, Van der Vaart says he is concentrating on the Sunday’s decisive encounter against Manchester United. Tottenham need a win in order to keep their title hopes alive, and the Dutch international believes that this could be the season Spurs finally
end their trophy drought.
Speaking on the upcoming match, Van der Vaart said, “Tottenham-United is the biggest game of the Premier League this season. Not only for us at Spurs, but for all the Premier League because United are unbeaten. If we beat them, it opens up the league for
everyone else who is chasing the title. And that includes us - we've got the squad to win the league.”
