Raheeba chasing maiden victory in TurfTV Handicap
Raheeba will be chasing her maiden victory in the sport, by winning the TurfTV Handicap at Musselburgh in England on Tuesday, July 24, 2012. A victory in the class-5 event will earn her a cash prize of £2,588 in the end.
The going will be good in the 1 mile 1 furlong event, which is scheduled to start at 14:00 GMT, and a total of nine runners will be seen in action. No one seems to have a great advantage over the other, which will make the competition pretty much even.
However, Raheeba will have a solid chance of taking the top spot in the race today, despite the fact that she is new to the sport. She has been given a general starting price of 3 to 1 by the bookmakers and the punters should also not think twice while placing
bets on her.
The three-year-old filly did not have a good time in her most recent race at Doncaster, as she finished sixth in it. She was given the best odds by the bookies back then, but a change in track conditions worked against her in the end. There was a lot of
rain, which made the ground heavy, thus the situation became quite uncertain.
However, things will be different for the Mark Johnston’s trainee at Musselburgh and she will enjoy the conditions. Her team will be expecting dry weather to prevail throughout the day, as it will give her a chance of fighting at the front.
The young filly debuted in April this year and her performance was up to the mark right from the very first race. She was priced 14 to 1 back then and was up against some quality runners. Despite that, a solid effort helped her finish third overall, which
was quite pleasing for her fans.
Invincible Spirit’s daughter proved to be competitive in the second race of her career as well, as she finished runner up in it. She was unable to cause any problems for the winner, but still proved that she had the skills to battle against the best.
Although Raheeba has taken part in just three events, yet she is a confident runner and deserves to win her first race under seasoned jockey, Joe Fanning.
