India’s former middle-order batsman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/R-Dravid-c2229 has hailed the appointment of youngster Gautam Gambhir as the captain of the Indian national team for the upcoming tour of the West Indies.

Speaking to the media about the new responsibilities dawned on the shoulders of Gambhir, Dravid said, “Gambhir has done it before against New Zealand where we won handsomely. He is a good captain. There is no reason why he can’t do it again.”
Gambhir, who is currently captaining the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the ongoing fourth season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), is doing exceptionally well and has transformed the franchise as one of the top teams this year, after three miserable years
in the past, where the KKR showed a poor performance.

The BCCI has also appointed Suresh Raina has the vice captain, a move which has received backing from Dravid as well. Talking on the matter, the flamboyant Dravid said, “Raina is a good prospect. He does well. He is a very good player who has proved himself.”
Many in India believe that this is a good move by the BCCI to groom the two youngsters who might take over the realms of cricket from MS Dhoni when he retires from international cricket.

According to sources the veterans Dhoni and Tendulkar will be available for the Test series in the Caribbean.
