The former Indian cricketer and one of the modern greats of the game, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Stephen-Rodger-Waugh-c91216 was his role model during his playing days, and he wanted to emulate the achievements of the legendary Australian cricketer.
Dravid is considered to be one of the greatest batsmen produced by India, and he is only rated behind http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SR-Tendulkar-c2556. Most cricket analysts in the world believe that Dravid was technically gifted, and it was really hard for the bowlers
to go past his defences.
The right-handed top order batsman announced his retirement from international cricket earlier this month but he will continue to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 last year, where they lost eight Test matches on the whole, succumbing to successive whitewashes in overseas Test match series. As a result of these results, there was immense criticism of the senior players,
which moved Dravid to call it a day.
Dravid believes that the former Australian captain was a true champion, who never threw away his wicket. Steve was not the most stylish batsman, but he always made it count when the going got tough for the Kangaroos.
The former Indian captain said, "In http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Harold-William-Stephenson-c61707 Waugh, I saw the roadmap to build my career, He is someone who valued his wicket. Steve appeared to relish the big occasion, seemed to thrive in such situations."
The legendary batsman has also come out in support of the banned Pakistani fast bowler, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammad-Amir-c76675, and hopes that the young left-arm fast bowler will return to international cricket soon. Dravid feels that Amir is immensely talented and it is difficult
to see such a capable player being banned from the sport.
"He's a superb player and when he's served his ban, I'd hope he'd be able to make a comeback. It's not easy to stay away from the game for so long, to not play it, and be able to come back. It's been disappointing as (I am) someone who loves the game, and
loves watching young talent come through," he added.
