  1. If this is what it shows on the national rail website then its proberly correct, however i found that when i renewed my railcard for the second month then it was about 10% cheaper(different route).  the only way to get cheaper fares would be when you turn 65 or if you are disabled or if you are a young person under 25.

  2. Unfortuatley no, a monthly is the cheapest option for commuting, unless you step up to an Annual ticket which would work out cheaper in the long run, but means you have to pay up a lot more in advance.

The only other way for you to travel cheaper would be to make your journey outside of the peak hours.

Sorry can not be any more help

  3. Could you consider going by coach, assuming there is a service between the two points?    Very much the cheaper option!

  4. Try phoning up The train company that runs the route to see what they can offer. It's transpennine express and their number is 0845 6001671.

I'e been looking into other ways for you but they just cost more. e.g. Hudersfield to york 211.20, York to Durham 371.80 TOTAL £583.00 for 1 month.

Hudersfield to Leeds 93.70, Leeds to Durham 483.10 TOTAL £576.80 for 1 month, so looking at the direct £493.10 ain't to bad.
