Railroad signal question. are Wigwags still around? where can i find them?

those are the railroad signals that swing back and forth when activated.

  1. Yea,there still around,if you cannot find one near your community,ill give you my nieghbors address as he is a railroad buff who has one in his backyard,activated from dusk until dawn,along with several other "pain in da butt" traffic signals/lamps etc.

    ;o)

  2. Richmond, CA. At the west end of the yard at the crossing just before the tunnel.  I work for BNSF and see them everyday...

  3. I know there used to be one at the south end of the UP (old SP) yard in Klamath Falls, Oregon, but I haven't made a trip there for quite a while.  It protected a crossing referred to as K-LAD.

    In addition, there was a wig wag protecting a crossing just north of Gold Run, California, on the UP (old SP) route on "the hill", which is the run between Roseville, Ca and Sparks Nevada.  Haven't made a run there in over 20 years, so it may have gone the way of the dinosaurs as well
