Railway Rico gets the best odds for Main Event Catering Selling Hurdle

Railway Rico has been given the best odds for the Main Event Catering Selling Hurdle at Stratford in England on Monday, March 12, 2012. If he manages to win the race, he will earn a cash prize of £2,599.
The class-5 event, which is scheduled to start at 3:10 GMT, will see seven runners in action and their names are: Mahfal, Swiss Art, Railway Rico, Sassanian, New Destination, She´s A Tucker and Novay Essjay.
The going is expected to be good and the runners will have to cover a distance of 2 miles and three furlongs.
Paul Rich’s trained gelding, Railway Rico has never managed to win any race, but he is still rated as favourite for today’s race by the bookmakers. He did take part in one hurdle as well and finished fourth in it.
The seven-year-old pressed hard at the start of his maiden race over hurdles and looked impressive. However, he was unable to carry on with the same momentum and could only manage a fourth place finish.
Despite that, the bookmakers believe that he has very good chances of winning the Main Event Catering Selling Hurdle. The reason for that is his rider, Jason Maguire, who is one of the best in the business.
The veteran jockey has earned 246 victories over hurdles and has got an impressive strike rate. The punters will be encouraged to place maximum bets on Railway Rico because of his partner for today’s race.
On the other hand, Mahfal will also be chasing his maiden victory over hurdles. He has participated in six of such events, but could only manage a best of second place finish. His trainer, Brian Ellison, will be expecting an improved show from him today.
The four-year-old gelding is not in good rhythm at the moment though, as he ended up 13th in his most recent outing. He will be partnered by Felix De Giles, who has got a pretty decent record in races over hurdles, winning 82 of them.
If any other runner has the ability to challenge the top two favourites, it is Swiss Art, trained by Brian Barr. He has won three hurdles out of 14 attempts, thus has plenty of experience. His jockey for today’s race will be Gavin Sheehan.
The other runners do not seem to be in good form at the moment, thus they will find it hard to win the race.
