  1. I know it is hard to fill in forms sometimes. Perhaps the citizens advice office would help you, it's worth a try.

  2. Under relevant skills, you could detail how you have already secured a job in the railway environment.  Excellent customer service might include helping a customer who asked you a question, or showing them where a particular platform or train is etc.

Be careful though, because if you make it to the interview stage, you may well be asked to expand on your answers.  Don't forget what you put down, perhaps make a photocopy of your completed application.

Educational and professional qualifications might not be that important for the job in question.  Work experience, a pleasant manner, good communication skills and life experience may be as, if not more, relevant.  Think of examples of where you have helped people out.

  3. I'm answering this as someone who has interviewed people for jobs before.

Don't let it all phase you, the people looking at your form will understand that maybe you don't have any great examples to tell. The important thing is not to lie! If for example you have helped a customer when you were cleaning to get on or off a train or help them find where they need to go, then talk about these things.

One thing I would say though, is that if you write your application form like you wrote this question it will probably get rejected. I know for you younger types you like to shorten words and not use capitals and punctuation, but make sure you do whenever possible. I have binned so many application forms that mispelt words and used words like "cuz" instead of "because", like they thought they were texting a mate.

It doesn't have to perfect, the odd dropped comma is no big deal, but make sure you double, triple and quadruple check your writing (do it rough first).

The fact that you care enough to ask this question on here demonstrates a willingness to improve, so good luck.

    Si.

  4. Dont try and bluff it ,you are known at Leeds and they would pick up on a bluff as the staff at all levels talk country wide to each other, Why not go to night school and improve yourself  where you think education let you down.

                  Cheers     Good luck
