Railway travel help [chelmsford] ?

Question

tomorrow i am gettin the bus from chelmsford to billericay

then gettin a train to clackton with my friends

but only thing is the people im goin with all live in billericay

so when we come home everyone will be gettin off train at billericay

can i stay on the train and it go on to chelmsford

or will i hav to get another ticket to chelmsford and wait for another train

please help im sooooo confused

Billericay is on the wrong line to go to Clacton. Your friends will have to get a train to Shenfield, then change to go to Clacton. The train will be coming through Chelmsford, so you can catch the same train from there. Just book a return ticket from Chelmsford to Clacton. Your friends can text or phone you to tell you what train they are on, so you can get the same one. Tell them to be in the first or last carriage, to help you find them.

Just buy your ticket through to Chelmsford.

Then ask the railway staff about times of trains etc and be guided by them
