Rain delays European Championship Division One day 2: Cricket News Update
Rain played spoiled sport on the second day of the European Championship Division One Twenty20 (T20) Series, bringing in a delay to the event. The fixtures will now be transferred to the reserve day on Thursday, July 21, 2011.
Initially, the competition took off at Port Soif on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 as 12 teams geared up to compete in the regional T20 contest to fight for a spot at the International Cricket Council (http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625) World T20 Championship Qualifiers, scheduled to take off
in UAE, early next year. Teams to clear the qualifiers will eventually participate in the mega event, ICC World T20 Championship 2012, scheduled to be staged in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758.
The competition comes with 12 participants and is the 4th Division One Series for the year. The opening Division One contest for the year took place between the East Asia Pacific Region countries on July 4, 2011 and came to an end on July 7 with

Following the Asian region, the event then took to the African region where 5 nations contended over 7 days resulting in the eventual win for the hosts http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Uganda-c3031.
At present, 6 Americas region contestants are battling it out in the ongoing limited overs series as http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Canada-c748 lead the tournament table.
As for the European Championship, the 12 teams have been arranged into two groups. Group A consists of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Israel-c2925.
Previously, all 12 teams participated in 2 matches each on the competition’s opening day. Guernsey and Italy head their group with first and second positions respectively after securing a 2 out of 2 win. Day 2 was scheduled to host another 12 fixtures as each team contended against the other in 2 matches per side with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Norway-c2974 to compete in the day opener.
