Rain pants and rain gear that is NOT nylon?

Ok my wife rides in Florida and it rains all summer. bought her a cheap nylon rain suit and the pants melted onto the headers on her cruiser. Need some options for rainpants (jacket she has is fine). Would Frog Toggs melt on a header? what about gore-tex? any good sites with lots of choices for big girls like a 2X?

  1. Frogg toggs work great and breath well. I don't think they melt. They do wad up into a ball and store easily.

  2. I use the cheap rain suit and then duct tape around the legs so that the slack doesn't get on the pipes.

  3. Frogg Toggs are what I am getting.  Hope this is what you are looking for, they breathe.

Oh, they make a heat resistant patch, let me go find that link, I'll edit in a bit.

Found a link for the homemade cutom patch, good for us lady's that have a wee bit more exposure to the pipe......I lost a pair of riding pants to my lowrider, lol.

and your wife could pick a cover with a cute design, instead of a black nasty patch on her cute frog toggs;  I am glad you asked this question --now I know what I am doing.

Here is the kit that Frog Togg sells, but there are others:
