Rain postpones Chicago White Sox and Minnesota Twins

The game between Chicago White Sox and Minnesota Twins was been deferred due to continuous rain. It was considered as the series opener among the two teams and had been played at Target Field, Minnesota on June 14.
The rain started about an hour before the scheduled time and the inspection team came into the ground after sometime but the shower continued with slight drizzle. Both teams had played numerous games in the current season and attained middle positions in
the Major League Baseball rankings of 2010.
The White Sox had the worst record in the last 34 games as they succeeded in only 12 games. They achieved the third best record in the American League by maintaining a 22-13 Win-Loss record since May 7.
On the other side, the Twins had overall exemplary Win-Loss record of 26-39 until their last game and they won 12 out of previous 14 games against the White Sox.
The White Sox’ manager Ozzie Guillen joked, “Where's the Metrodome when we need it? This game (is going to) cost me about 300 bucks.”
Both teams got opportunities to rotate their line-up and gave rest to the main players. Gavin Floyd will be the best option for the White Sox, as he pitched superbly for his team in the previous games and had a Win-Loss record of 52-47 in his baseball career.
He had an ERA of 4.47 and struck-out 640 batters with his pitching.
Floyd said, “You treat it like any other game. There's no point to do otherwise. It's like playoffs, you've got to treat it like any other game, maintain your focus and try to be your best every game. ... There's no less or more.”
The Twins faced a tough time in the last 11 games as their key players like Jim Thome, Jason Kubel, Joe Nathan, Justin Morneau and Joe Mauer suffered serious injuries.
The Twins’ manager, Ron Gardenhire said of his plans, “Everything's big from here on out because we've dug such a big, deep hole. We have to go just game by game. You can't worry about winning series now. You have to go game by game.”
Carl Pavano will be the starter for the Twins on Wednesday, June 15. He had 986 strike-outs in his baseball career.
