The west slopes of the Sierra Nevada will usually get the most precipitation.  The main reason is the general flow of the mid and upper levels winds during most of the year are usually moving from west to east.  The winds are the storm main steering current.  The rain shadow or drier side of the Sierra Nevada would then be or the east slopes.
