Former Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Rainer Bonhof has claimed that the club will have a successful season this term. He stated that the team has started brilliantly and are a totally different side from last season. He added
that Monchengladbach have great quality in their side and are well on course to finish in the top-four at the end of the current campaign.
The Foals currently sit in third place with 16 points, three points adrift of leaders Bayern Munich. The team has had a stunning start to the season and has lost only two games since the start which is in complete contrast to the
performance in the previous campaign when they played in the relegation play-offs.
Bonhof claimed that the club has surely improved on the defensive problems from the last season and have not faced any major injury concerns which is keeping them up on the table. He insisted that it has been a long time since
Monchengladbach played in the Champions League so it will be a major target this year.
“They had defensive problems as well last season, due to a whole string of injuries. Having been involved in the Champions League for years on end, they'll definitely be looking to get there again and doing everything in their
power to make that happen. And the way they're playing at the moment, I'd say that's a realistic target,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.

are willing to give their all to bring success to the club.
“There will be setbacks along the way, but we'll overcome them. The team now believe in their own ability to succeed - that's every player's mindset within the squad,” he concluded.
Borussia Monchengladbach will next face a tough test at home against Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday, October 15.
